Purchasing Coordinator (York, PA)
Lifestyle Foods Inc. is currently seeking an energetic, experienced and motivated purchasing manager for our growing company.
Lifestyle Foods, Inc. manufactures “Healthy Chill Foods for the Sharp Crowd”. These products include established cutting edge convenient and healthy prepared salads, snacks and innovative food concepts. We currently service large retail chains, convenience stores, military, vending, airports and universities. Lifestyle Foods Inc. is currently seeking an energetic, experienced and motivated purchasing manager for our growing company.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, research, sourcing and vetting of new potential vendors as well as day-to-day management of Purchase Order placement and management of in-house raw material inventory to ensure that demand is met. Also, this position is responsible to negotiate prices and contracts, review technical specifications for incoming raw materials, and forecasting upcoming demand.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct research to obtain, update and continuously maintain a list of Ingredients and Vendors.
Meet with potential vendors to review products, pricing and technical specifications for incoming raw materials or components.
Analyze demand data to obtain accurate forecast for raw material usage and translate into Purchase Orders.
Forecast Market Pricing and Trends to Strategize Buying Behavior.
Monitor Day-To-Day Incoming Inventory to ensure timely arrival and QA performance.
Make Suggestions to improve Efficiencies through the Development of new Purchasing Strategies.
Track and Report functional key metrics back to Accounting Department to ensure that Budgets are met to meet expense goals.
Meet and Exceed Quarterly Purchasing Goals set forth by Management.
Assist in set-up of all new Vendors ensuring that all product documentation and vendor documentation is received and filed prior to ordering.
Conduct Field Quality Assurance (To be Trained) including immediate follow-up on any QA issues or product rejections or damages.
Conduct Business Reviews with Existing Vendors to Re-Negotiate Contracts.
Assist in Research and Development Projects to source potential new items.
Attend trade and industry shows to stay abreast of current food ingredient, packaging trends and technologies.
Any other Duties Deemed needed by Management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Minimum of High School Diploma. An Associate’s degree in the Mathematics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, Economics, or Business Preferred.
Minimum of two years Purchasing or Buying Preferred. Position requires exemplary multi-tasking skills.
Familiarity with the process of sourcing and Vendor Management.
Familiarity with Using Excel to Generate Formulas and Forecasts.
Experience with Intuit Quickbooks Preferred.
Strong Mathematical Ability and Solid Judgement Required
Well-developed interpersonal skills that enable effective and competent supervision and training of department associates and harmonious and complementary interfacing with associates in other departments.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple department tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
Ability to function well under pressure.
Self–starter with the ability to work without direct supervision.
Well Developed Computer Skills. Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Familiarity with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc) a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Working Conditions: Office Environment with occasional on-production-floor raw material analysis.
Works directly with the VP/COO, Controller, and Plant Manager of the company.
